About the Author Through his love of nature, Chuck observed and saw the beauty of nature and the animals all around us as he drove his bus each day early in the mornings or at sunset. Most of us never see birds up close because they are usually in flight or far away. Gonzo is on the cover and is his second bird. He was an abused bird that became a great friend after some exciting go arounds, and a lot of help from his wife and daughter. You will read more about him later. Chuck found the key of what it takes to love a pet or they to love us. I laughed, I cried, laughed some more and was truly touched by the raw emotional love Mister Birdman has for God's wonderful creations (even the mean birds). I never really cared to much about birds, other than I knew they existed. After reading these short stories as Mister Birdman brings these birds to LIFE, I couldn't wait until morning came so I could go outside on my front porch and enjoy these lovely creatures, watching them, hearing them sing, and interacting with each other. I plan to buy more to give as Christmas gifts for my family and friends. from the heart! I can relate about losing a pet that became a friend for life, the book had a lot of compassion and truths
This a an insipiring and heart warming book about a mans journey through his daily life and how he made life better through love and selflessness to help those creatures who could not help themselves. I enjoyed his perspective and philosophy. It made me chuckle, and even though there was sadness it made me feel good in the end and know kindness and love are not passe in this synical day and age.
A simply enjoyable book filled with heartwarming stories of a man's love for the "birds in need" that he encountered going about his day to day business. Charles P. Mason's folksy writing style will make you feel as though you're sitting with him, rocking on his front porch, and just listening to his warm, wonderful stories of the birds that became such a big part of his and his wife's lives. Each chapter is a touching vignette. You will be sad; you will smile; and you will laugh out loud.
